The In-Laws

So in April of 2009 we packed our stuff into a storage unit yet again and headed to the in-laws to stay for a few months. We didn't really know what our plan was. We had been living for free for a year now and to go from that to paying rent or a mortgage was scary and seemed impossible because we had adjusted our finances for a rent free lifestyle.

Mary, Jacob's grandma, was heading to Colorado for 3 months and offered her house to us while she was gone. The only problem was that she wasn't leaving for a month or two. So we ended up at Steve and Carol's in the meantime.

Steve and Carol were such a blessing they gave us their bedroom which was a lot bigger than the guest room, built us a closet and emptied dressers for us. They made us feel right at home.

We stayed there until June and then headed to Mary's. Ugh! So much moving! I HATE moving. We got all our stuff settled into Mary's two bedroom house. It was small but at least we had our own rooms. Mary's house was located on the south side of St Pete, which if you know anything about St Pete you know the south side is not the ideal place to live. It was a little scary. God heard our prayers for safety and protected us. We had a little scare with someone trying to break into our car, but other than that we were fine. Although we had the place to ourselves I enjoyed Steve and Carol's place better.

Our plan was to just move out of Mary's place and into a our new place, but we weren't having much luck finding a place in our price range. The only place we found was all the way in Clearwater. It was affordable, but really small and required a large down payment which we didn't have. We tried to get a loan for it but our credit was still recovering from our Orlando lifestyle. I was so upset, but God had a plan.

Anyway, we headed back to Steve and Carol's for a few more months while we searched for a house.
