Our Very First Home

Kristen referred me to her Realtor Jen Gay. So I gave her a call all the while thinking there's no way she'll be able to find us a home in our price range. Together we looked all over Pinellas county for the perfect home. We started out looking only at three + bedrooms thinking we'll want to have another baby soon, but after a month things were looking grim. So we decided to look at some two bedroom homes. That's when we found one that we fell in love with. It was two bedrooms, but it had a room off the back that could be made into a third. We put an offer on it. The next day while driving to look at it with both moms and Amber Jen called and said a cash offer was made on it. I was so mad. Now what? I couldn't see myself living in any of the other houses we had looked at.

We must have looked at a hundred more houses and nothing. Than Jen mentioned a house that we turned down a few weeks back because of it's size. It was a two bedroom, one bath. The inside had been completely remodeled. Jacob and Jen were sold on it already, but  I was not. It was so cute, but so small. 740 square feet for a growing family kept resonating in my mind, but I thought I would amuse them and go check it out.

We pull up and took the two minute tour of the place and then Jen and Jacob start in with their convincing speech. " This could be our room." "We could put the T.V. here." "It has a huge back yard." "We could furnish it with Ikea stuff." etc. I finally caved in all the while saying " I better not get pregnant."
It was late November and I wanted to be in by Christmas thank God we had Jen. She got it done. We were moved in by the 18th of December. Just in time to unpack a few things, throw up a fake tree (courtesy of my mom and dad), wrap a few gifts and enjoy Christmas in our new home.

After the new year we decided to have a house warming party. So work on our new house began. Starting with opening up the kitchen wall.

Next we did some painting and organizing. Since this was our first home we were eligible for a $10,000 tax credit. We planned on using most of that on new furniture. However we did not receive it before our party so we borrowed a sofa from my mom and dad for the it. Below are some pictures form our party courtesy of Lorena.
